Steve Jobs said it best.
“Innovation is about saying no to 1,000 things.”
Most people think success is about doing more. Adding. Stacking. Squeezing another opportunity, another meeting, another yes into the calendar.
The people who actually build something great do the opposite.
They subtract.
They say no to the good so they can say yes to the great. No to the meeting that doesn't matter. No to the opportunity that flatters their ego but drains their week. No to the version of themselves that tries to be everything to everyone.
Every yes you give to something mediocre is a no to something extraordinary. You just don't see the cost until later.
Here's your challenge this week.
Look at your calendar. Look at your commitments. Find three things you can say no to.
Then watch what opens up in the space they leave behind.
That's where the good stuff lives.
